About Sevada Grigoryan
Sevada Grigoryan is an Armenian artist from Yerevan, Armenia. He is known for his distinctive style, which combines elements of miniature painting, figurative compositions represented in folk themes. His artworks often reveal thematic subjects of Armenian rural life-style shown through a hardworking father and caring mother, both maintaining harmony inside of the family. Sevada’s works have been exhibited throughout USA, Russia, Japan and China, at venues including Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art in Kobe, Datian Art Gallery in Shanghai and in Central House of Artist in Moscow.
Sevada was born on September 13, 1959 in Goris - southern city of Armenia, but lived most of his childhood and adulthood in Jermuk, Armenia. He started painting from early years. Sevada pursued his education in Yerevan State Pedagogical University after Kh. Abovian, graduating from painting department in 1979. Later, he attended lectures in Riga State Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1992, Sevada has become a member of Artists' Union of Armenia and since 1995 - member of "UNESCO" International Federation of Artists in France.
Sevada's paintings are included in some public collections, most notably Russian Embassy in Armenia, Sandy Education District in Salt lake City, Municipality of Karlovy Vary in Czech Republic, Armenian Apostolic Church in Pyatigorsk, Russia, Jermuk City Municipality and Armenia's United Nations Dining Hall.
